Holy Wednesday

This week I’m exploring some of the thoughts, and traditions of the Holy Week. This also means diving in to some of the Catholic thoughts that I usually don’t encounter.

Today is Holy Wednesday. According to the traditions, today typically commemorates the first conversation and betrayal of Judas Iscariot. The story is told in Luke 22:3-6

That’s when Satan entered Judas, the one called Iscariot. He was one of the Twelve. Leaving the others, he conferred with the high priests and the Temple guards about how he might betray Jesus to them. They couldn’t believe their good luck and agreed to pay him well. He gave them his word and started looking for a way to betray Jesus, but out of sight of the crowd.

Let us remember this sad story of betrayal, and learn of the love Christ had. Our Jesus still loved Judas, even though he betrayed him and turned him over to be killed. That is love.
